The Illinois State Police Department announced that 67 new officers will be joining its ranks. The officers just graduated from a 25 week training program at the Illinois State Police Academy. They will be assigned to districts across the state to begin their patrol duties.  

The University of North Florida men's basketball team begins a nine-game road swing Saturday, Nov. 21, as the Ospreys take on Illinois State at 5 p.m. ET at Doug Collins Court in Redbird Arena in Normal , Ill. NORMAL, Ill.-- Illinois State forward Ashleen Bracey scored 24 points to lead Illinois State to a 79-67 win over South Dakota State at Redbird Arena Thursday. Bracey made 9-of-15 from the floor, including both three-point attempts, and snagged seven boards to lead all players. ISU (2-1) force 25 turnovers in winning its home opener.  

It is a concern nationwide, the growing number of untested rape kits in storage. Some date back more than 20 years. A spokesperson for the Illinois State Police Forensic Lab says more than 540 DNA cases are backlogged in their system right now, some of which are rape kits.

South Dakota State shot a season-best 51 percent from the field, but the Jackrabbit women's basketball team couldn't overcome 25 turnovers in dropping a 79-67 decision Thursday night at Illinois State. Illinois State, the defending Missouri Valley Conference regular season champion, improved to 2-1 on the season. SDSU, which dropped its second game in a row, fell to 1-2.

When Brad Childress said that last Thursday at the Minnesota Vikings complex, he was already inching toward securing multiple chances with the Vikings.
